Here are the coaches who are building the next generation of Regina volleyball players.
Annette is the Head Coach of the U15 NET FORCE team and is passionate about developing young athletes both on and off the volleyball court. She is committed to helping players build strong fundamental skills, grow their confidence, and reach their full potential in a positive and supportive environment.
Annette believes volleyball should be challenging, rewarding, and fun. Her coaching focuses on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and creating a culture where every athlete feels encouraged to work hard, improve every day, and enjoy the game.
Her goal is to inspire a lifelong love of volleyball while helping each player become a confident athlete, a supportive teammate, and a respectful competitor.
Coach RIO brings a strong passion for volleyball and a competitive mindset to the U15 boys team. Having played volleyball throughout high school and continued competing in competitive leagues, he has experience playing as a libero, setter, and outside hitter, giving him a well-rounded understanding of the game and its different positions.
Through his playing experience, Coach Rio understands the commitment, teamwork, communication, and determination it takes to grow as an athlete and compete at a high level. His experiences have given him a strong understanding of the importance of defending the court, staying disciplined, and working hard for every single point. He believes that every ball matters and that a strong team is built on players who are willing to give their best effort, even when the play doesn't go as planned.
Coach RIO is excited to bring that experience and competitive mindset to the court while supporting the athletes throughout their development. He is passionate about helping players build strong fundamentals, confidence, and a positive competitive mindset while creating an environment where they can challenge themselves, learn, and have fun.
His goal as an assistant coach is to encourage every athlete to work hard, support their teammates, and continue growing both on and off the court. He believes volleyball is not only about competition, but also about building character, discipline, teamwork, and a lifelong love for the game.
Shalene has a lifelong love of volleyball, playing throughout high school and continuing her volleyball journey into university in a recreational league. During her playing years, she played both hitter and libero.
Outside of volleyball, Shalene is a RN, bringing another valuable set of assets to the NETS coaching team. Her nursing background has taught her the importance of communication, teamwork, staying calm under pressure, recognizing when athletes may need support, and prioritizing the health and wellbeing of those in her care.
As a coach, Shalene is passionate about helping athletes build confidence, and a love for the game. She believes teams are built through communication, encouragement, accountability, intentionality and a strong team-first mindset.
She is excited to bring her love of competition, sport and health together to help create a positive, supportive, and competitive environment where athletes can challenge themselves, grow, and feel supported both on and off the court.
